Covid-19: New DTI cluster detected in Sepang



KUALA LUMPUR - The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has detected a new Covid-19 cluster with six cases at the Sepang, Selangor Immigration Detention Center (DTI), the third cluster involving DTI.

The matter was confirmed by Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his statement today.

Yesterday, Dr Noor Hisham said the MoH detected the existence of a cluster involving foreigners at DTI in Semenyih, Selangor with 21 out of 1,752 samples taken positively confirmed by Covid-19.

Earlier, 60 cases of Covid-19 were detected at DTI Bukit Jalil.

Earlier, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said MoH was in the process of sampling illegal immigrants at the DTI Bukit Jalil and Semenyih involving 3,000 individuals, including two deputies.

He said those found positive would be sent to the Quarantine Covid-19 Low Risk Center at the Malaysia Serdang Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS). - Bernama
